About Us

Lauri Donahue, Esq. has a BA in Economics and International Relations from Boston University and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, where she was a co-founder of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. She also studied law, economics, and international relations at the University of Vienna.

Ms. Donahue is admitted to the California bar and has been in practice since 1986. As an attorney with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, she participated in transactions and litigation involving nuclear power plants and other energy-related technology. As Assistant Corporate Counsel at Atari Corporation, she was lead counsel on the Atari v. Nintendo antitrust/intellectual property lawsuit in federal district court, participated in Congressional hearings on anticompetitive practices in the videogame industry, and handled other transactions and litigation.

Since 1992, Ms. Donahue has had her own law/consulting practice. Clients have included Hewlett-Packard , Intuit, Fujitsu, Philips Semiconductors, Acer, Watkins-Johnson, Clarify, Galatia, DSPG, WSI, Synopsys, Quantum and the American Electronics Association.

Ms. Donahue has taught at the Estonian Business School and the International University of Moscow and has designed seminars on "What Business Clients Want from their Lawyers" and "The Ethics of Billing." Her non-profit activities include acting as President of the Harvard Law School Association of Northern California for eight years and as Vice President of the Harvard Law School Association of Southern California since 1998.

Publications include "Misuse of Intellectual Property," 37 Am. Jur. Proof of Facts 3d 315 (Bancroft Whitney, 1996) and "Intellectual Property Licensing: A Crib Sheet for Dealmakers," 15 Computer Lawyer Number 8 (August, 1998).
